There are just two weeks to go until “Turning green into gold: what ‘net zero’ means for mining” – an Axora Community event in partnership with Young Mining Professionals. Have you registered yet?
The evening’s proceedings – from 6pm on June 28th at the Coq d’Argent, London – will start with a typically thought-provoking talk by best-selling author of “The Undercover Economist” and senior Financial Times journalist Tim Harford. Tim will ponder just what it is about humans and humanity that prevents it from progressing even once it has developed the means of doing so.
Tim will also chair a panel discussion on the evening’s main theme. Our panellists are Charlie Durant - Interim Head of Sustainability at CRU’s Sustainability Division, Sarah Gordon - CEO and Co-founder of Satarla Risk & Sustainability Management, and Joe Carr - Innovation Director, Axora.
The panel will offer answers to questions directly relating to the future of mining during the green revolution, such as:
How can the traditionally risk-averse mining sector learn to innovate better?
How the sector ought or can respond to so-called ‘black swan’ events that disrupt the transition to clean energy?
What can mining do to become more sustainable beyond the low-hanging fruit?
Plus, of course, whatever questions the audience chooses to challenge the panel with.
There’s still time to sign up for this free-to-attend event – register here. Note that this evening is exclusively for Axora Community members; if you're not a member yet, join here.
