Rapid video-based gas-leak detection technology.

In more detail

Full description

When plants develop gas leaks they put the health and safety of their workforce at risk and threaten to pollute the wider environment and endanger the local community.

The challenge

When a gas leak is not detected quickly it can cause serious environmental damage, put lives in danger and cause plant shutdown.

The approach

Developed for production sites that deploy gas, steam and liquids, this video-based, rapid gas-leak detection solution automatically detects leaks in pipes and other equipment. Using a local camera network that feeds into a recognition server, it recognises escaping gas and alerts the asset manager.

It significantly improves gas leak response time and allows the operator to act quickly to prevent further damage or loss of resources. This solution helps to reduce gas pollution, improve plant health and safety and limit plant shutdown.
