This tool enhances a team's ability to visualise and understand asset parameters for a wide range of systems and functions, including: compressors; heat exchangers; and, dehydration systems.

This solution enables operations to be optimised, maintenance and potential process threats to be anticipated and it avoids asset downtime and ultimately increases production.

The challenge

Transporting and organising pipes and casing on the drill floor is time-consuming, tedious and prone to human errors. Manual movement of pipes and casing can result in accident and injury and even cause asset downtime. This solution automates the handling and racking of pipes and casing.

Operators use a simple control unit to activate the machinery, which picks up individual pipes and moves them to specific locations on the drill floor. With the ability to carry pipes vertically and horizontally, this machinery can handle a huge variety of offshore drill pipes, drill racks and casings of any size. It can also be manually controlled when needed.

This solution means that fewer personnel are needed on the drill floor, which improves health and safety and cuts workforce expenditure. This automation system also adds greater speed, precision and efficiency to the process.
